HVAC Heating / Cooling Technician
HVAC professionals frequently work with propane and natural-gas heating systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, fireplaces, and other gas-powered equipment.
In Ontario, anyone who works on gas-fired appliances must hold certification from the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA).
A combined HVAC and Gas Technician program provides a strong starting point for this career path. You’ll learn the core skills needed for HVAC installation and maintenance while also preparing for the TSSA Gas Technician certification exams.
Key Advantages of This Training
- Two skill sets in one program: Build a foundation in HVAC while earning your gas technician qualifications.
- Exam preparation included: Training covers both Gas Technician 3 (G3) and Gas Technician 2 (G2) requirements. (Students must complete G3 before progressing to G2.)
- Graduate with your G2 license: Successful students finish the program ready for HVAC roles and apprenticeships.
- Expanded career options: Work as a gas fitter or begin an apprenticeship toward becoming a licensed HVAC technician or mechanic.
