Business Administration with Co-op Experience

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed Grade 12 or an equivalent level of education, or qualify as a Mature Student. Individuals should have strong English communication skills and be able to follow instructions. Applicants whose first language is not English must provide acceptable proof of English proficiency.

An admissions interview and a short entrance essay are required to confirm the applicant’s interest, motivation, and readiness for the program.

Co-op Work Experience

Along with classroom learning, students must successfully complete 960 hours of co-op work experience to earn the diploma. Co-op placements may be located in various regions across Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business administration professionals support the daily operations of an organization. Responsibilities vary depending on experience and workplace needs. Tasks may include:

  • Coordinating and overseeing daily business activities
  • Implementing efficient workflows, schedules, and procedures
  • Conducting research and preparing reports
  • Reviewing and assigning tasks to clerks and administrative staff
  • Managing and organizing database information
  • Communicating by phone, email, and written correspondence
  • Training staff on job duties and company policies
  • Using and troubleshooting office technologies
  • Supervising administrative teams
  • Providing required information for business transactions

Program Objective

The Business Administration Diploma prepares students for the demands of today’s fast-paced business environment. The program introduces a wide range of business concepts, management practices, administrative skills, and practical tools needed for success in business-related careers.

Training focuses on essential professional skills valued by employers, including e-commerce, business communication, office procedures, project management, and employment readiness.
